This might be so '2 weeks ago' but I've been away, oh well. In a few short words: The PS3 has finally been hacked via a USB device!
This tune is amazingly catchy.
It's great to see something that will probably never make it to the United States. This game from Atlus looks like a fancy art film. It's an adult thriller filled with murderous sheep-men and the American taboo: sex.
At the Quakecon 2010 Keynote, John Carmark game a demonstration of their upcoming game Rage running on an iPhone 4 at a smooth 60 frames per second. The textures, lighting, and other features were left intact and looked amazing. Hmm.. if it can run on an iPhone, then does that mean the game could also run on a Wii?For comparisons, there how the game runs on the PC/360/PS3 from an E3 2010 demonstration:
Well, I know JD wasn't too enamored with the game, but the GIFs available here are kind of adorable, in a nostalgic OMG 16-bit characters type way!
Amazing trailer. A sequel that's not a sequel, but takes the series to the open skies! From the official website:BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter currently in development at Irrational Games, the studio behind the original BioShock (which sold over 4 million units worldwide). Set in 1912, BioShock Infinite introduces an entirely new narrative and gameplay experience that lifts players out of the familiar confines of Rapture and rockets them to Columbia, an immense city in the sky.F...
Mafia 2 is coming August 24th to the PC, PS3, and 360. From early reports it looks like the only version worth getting is on the PC. Between consoles, the 360 version is less 'crappy'. Besides the video, look at the pictures below to determine the picture quality:
Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Video Game was released on Tuesday August 10th for the PS3 (Download only, $9.99). It will be released for the Xbox 360 on August 25th for 800 imaginary points. We spent a few hours yesterday on co-op and single player and here are our initial impressions.
Are these guys running for politics? I'm buying whatever they are selling. Really great trailer with an overview of what Guild Wars 2 will bring new to the MMO scene. Narrated by the developers of the game, they offer some good points on what you can expect from the game when it launches early next year (date has yet to be determined, but it does not look like it will make it into the holiday period).
A match between Arew vs NTT ( pronounces Entity, get it? //rolls eyes) goes into bizzaro world very quickly as the two sides make the weirdest choice. First time I've seen it in a match. Watching the first four minutes is enough, the rest turns into a standard match.
Someone made a Mario Kart type level with the Starcraft editor. lol poor Thor, 3 laps in and he's still a quarter into the first one. Great music too.
There is an abstinence game being created by the University of Central Florida with $400k+ of taxpayer money. The game is directed at middle school girls to help them handle and cope with sexual advances.
Two masked people try to rob a netcafe. Gamers didn't mind giving up their money but when the robber asked to take someone's DS, they snapped! DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO CATCH ALL MY POKEMON!?
A playful Super Nintendo-like version of Bayonetta by the developer of the game, Platinum Games. I would love to play this on a DS.
To follow up on the Devil's Fork, here is the trailer for Limbo. From the Wiki:The primary character in Limbo is a nameless boy who awakes in the middle of a forest on the "edge of hell" (the game's title is taken from the Latin limbus, meaning "edge") who then begins to seek out his missing sister. It looks innocent, but if you watch the trailer, you can see the kid stepping on dead bodies and so gruesome deaths. It's out on the 360 via XBLA, I don't know if it's out on any other platform.
Funny video, sort of like the Jay Leno street questions segment. IGN asks regular people in San Francisco what they think a game is about based on the box art. They showed people different games and they gave really frank answers.
According to Gizmodo, it was National Sys Admin Day. Thanks for dealing with dumb people all the time!
Here is the homepage for the game, looks really fresh and cool.
Just like the real world!
Interested in playing as the Terran race or curious about the new updates? Here are two excellent guides that methodically take you through the new changes and abilities of the Terran buildings and demonstrate how the Terran units work. It's a bit old, but most of the information on that particular build of the game is still true.
This video seems like just another Starcraft 2 tutorial until you hit about 0:15...
hmm.. Maybe not a real game. But he's officially in Madden '11 (skip to the 2nd minute): You can model your Mass Effect character after Obama (Nobel Prize not included):
It's here! Thank you Amazon release date delivery! ^_^ What's in the normal package?
Finally. A cross-over between Street Fighters and Tekken characters! It's actually two games, not just one. From the OP in the Neogaf Thread:
If you want Star Wars, look to the games and not the movies to satisfy your hunger. The original Force Unleashed was a great game and a surprise hit. Later next year another Star Wars MMO will debut from Bioware. Maybe the Star Wars novels are also a good source for Star Wars material, but that's a realm I know nothing about.
Since you do have one of those fancy-schmancy Android phones.
Too cute, even though I don't have an Android phone. Via NOTCOT.
Besides the great game play that made Starcraft great, there is also an equally excellent storyline that goes with it. This why Starcraft stands out so much from other strategy games. Anyone that played the original Starcraft probably still remembers the betrayal and Kerrigan's sad fate.
Or is it mash up? Click on the image for a larger picture. There are some characters I don't know but so far the games listed:
lol. Personally, I used his calls as ring tones. If you like the video, there is another one at cracked. It's based on his movie Ransom and it's just hilarious towards the end:
From Major Nelson, Xbox 360's spokeperson: Kinect Pricing: Existing Xbox 360 owners can purchase Kinect and Kinect Adventures for $149.99 (U.S. ERP). Remember, Kinect will work with every Xbox 360 ever made.
This is probably the funniest video I've seen this year, they really don't hold anything back. Things you'll see in the video, based on real events:
You can get Alien Swarm for free on Steam starting today. Alien Swarm is a 4 person co-op adventure with an updated Source engine and the ability to create custom levels. Think of this as a top view Left 4 Dead or Killing Floor, but with aliens. Too bad they are not zombie aliens, but it's a free game so we can't complain.
This is the cutest kid in cosplay ever. Via 8Asians.
There is a Neogaf Thread on great and weird game art on the net today. My favorites from that thread:
Very cool video by Eurogamer showing the game world's 24 hour period in seconds. If you've only seen screenshots of the game it's hard to grasp just how beautiful the game is in motion.
