L.A. Noire is the newest Rockstar (GTA4, Red Dead Redemption) game created by Team Bondi ( The Getaway). The game is set in the late 1940's in Los Angeles. The main character, Phelps, is a war veteran rising through the ranks from police officer to detective.  The game is presented in mini episodes (one case per episode) and flashbacks. Do you have an awesome rig that is able to run anything you throw at it at 60 fps with maximum settings? Prepare to be humbled. The Witcher 2 is the first game in quite some time to tax your system the same way Crysis did when it first came out.

No game is perfect. Well maybe except for Super Mario Brothers 3. In the last two posts I've been praising Tera but it's not without its shortcomings.

Is game play king? Or was it that graphics is king? or maybe the story? Arghhh... well, regardless from which school of thought you come from, Tera online has bet most of their chips on game play.

Tera Online is a beautiful Korean MMO with real time combat. The game is coming to the states towards the end of the year. Unlike other MMOs were combat is target specific (lock on target) and dependant on skill timers and macros, Tera Online focuses on fast area of effect action. Your blade or spell will hit whatever is in front, or miss if it's not. The closest thing to the game play of Tera is Vindictus, a free to play MMO with the same concept of game play. Anyone else into playing around with the Dragon Age SDK?

Seemingly a very easy question, yet I can't find the answer anywhere. I saw someone mentioning 24 max (12 on 12), but that looked to be in the context of consoles.

Games we are playing consistently this month:

New DLC for Left 4 Dead on Oct 5th! Free on PC, imaginary money (560 points) on 360.  The trailer shows the original cast using melee weapons!

Really good look at an upcoming Sci-fi MMO from Germany. It looks like Even Online and it has beautiful graphics.

Spending five days with the game is enough to know it's not to my liking. Is it a horrible MMO? Yes, yes it is. There are better Free to Play MMOs launched years ago that are better than this. As a fan of the Final Fantasy series (I am currently playing and liking Final Fantasy 13), this MMO is so bad that at some point I couldn't justify the awful environment, game play, and interface.

Final Fantasy 14 the MMO is now live. The special edition priced at $75 enables people to play eight days earlier than people getting the regular edition, which comes out on September 30th. Mine arrived yesterday and here are some pictures of what's inside the special edition version of the game:

A new game from the makers of No More Heroes and Resident Evil coming out on 2011 from EA. It looks like something like out of a Quentin Tarantino movie. A third person shooter, it's probably another attempt by creators in Japan to tap into the lucrative shooter market in the US.

Well, I know JD wasn't too enamored with the game, but the GIFs available here are kind of adorable, in a nostalgic OMG 16-bit characters type way!

Mafia 2 is coming August 24th to the PC, PS3, and 360. From early reports it looks like the only version worth getting is on the PC. Between consoles, the 360 version is less 'crappy'. Besides the video, look at the pictures below to determine the picture quality:

Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Video Game was released on Tuesday August 10th for the PS3 (Download only, $9.99). It will be released for the Xbox 360 on August 25th for 800 imaginary points. We spent a few hours yesterday on co-op and single player and here are our initial impressions.

There is an abstinence game being created by the University of Central Florida with $400k+ of taxpayer money. The game is directed at middle school girls to help them handle and cope with sexual advances.

Two masked people try to rob a netcafe. Gamers didn't mind giving up their money but when the robber asked to take someone's DS, they snapped! DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO CATCH ALL MY POKEMON!?
