I'm not sure if who follows World of Warcraft, but recently they went into Alpha testing (for friends & family of the company), which means the release is coming fairly soon.
I've got a few friends inside the company so I'm hoping to get started on it soon. Once the NDA is lifted, there's probably going to be a lot of neat content available.
I love all the SC2 fans who are upset about the fast development of this game, while Starcraft has been taking so long. *cackle*

Yeah I read that the invitations for the Beta are for family and employees only at this point, I bet the begging emails must be insane at Blizzard.
Blizzard is like the weirdest company. They have three properties that anyone would kill to own (Diablo, WoW, SC), but unlike any other game company, they don't streamline their releases. Most game companies nowdays release a new franchise game every two to three years, but Blizzard releases them every seven to twelve. Diablo 3 for example, even though it's been announced, should at least be released sometime in my lifetime.
So I take it Cataclysm will be released this year?
That's what it's looking like. I give it only a few months for the game to be in Beta, and then the release sometime towards the end of this year.
Blizzard's sporadic and often unpredictable release dates coined them their own trademark, "Soon™"
"Copyright 2004-2010 Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. All rights reserved. "Soon" does not imply any particular date, time, decade, century, or millennia in the past, present, and certainly not the future. "Soon" shall make no contract or warranty between Blizzard Entertainment and the end user. "Soon" will arrive some day, Blizzard does guarantee that "soon" will be here before the end of time. Maybe. Do not make plans based on "soon" as Blizzard will not be liable for any misuse, use, or even casual glancing at "soon.""
So Star Craft game and a WoW expansion this year, and Diablo 3 possibly next year? wow. It's like Blizzard staffers actually starting to show up for work now.
