Apple makes Ellen Apologize Publicly
No. Not about her dancing.
Here is the apology and the offending material:
What did Apple do to this poor woman. That's the most sincere apology I've ever seen FOR A COMMERCIAL PRODUCT. Not even murderers apologize as honestly. Does this mean that Apple will not have to create a search warrant?
Hey Francis, what do you think about this dick move?
.. I hope you die in the next dlc Francis.
The sad thing in all of this, is that Ellen's humor is as bland as you can get. Ellen is like our own very own daytime brit. The only thing offending about the Ellen show beside admitting that you've watched it is the dancing. Apple might not want the image of the iphone being hard to use, but they sure don't mind the a-hole image they've been wearing lately.
For the lazy (becase you can't get full clips on youtube):

People, the obvious lesson to learn here is that products and their corporate parents have feelings too. They get hurt just like we do. They laugh and cry and are able, now thanks to the supreme court, to contribute an unlimited amount of $upport to political campaigns because they care about this country so much. So next time you're thinking of making a bland inoffensive joke, please make sure that they are about people and not your corporate sponsor.

Apple really has been creating quite the image for themselves lately...from the iPhone 4G house raid to firing an iPad engineer for sharing some details to Steve Wozniak. I don't usually find Ellen to be funny, but that was pretty good.
Her fake commerical is a valid complaint too. Have you ever tried to teach someone in upper management how to use a touchpad or a blackberry keypad? It's next to impossible. First thing these people do is use the entire flat area of their tumb to press at least five keys, and then repeat this about 80 times. "Why can't I press k?", well that's because you're pressing JUIOLKM all at once is the obvious answer.
The iphone keys are small too, so it doesn't make it any easier than any other phone. The only reason people overlook the negatives in apple design is because most people forgive and blame themselves first. "oh it's my fault for messing up, apple really made something great and i just have to learn'. That's a great way of thinking but many companies don't get that same type of forgiveness.
